Situated in Tanzania, Mikumi forms part of the extensive ecosystem surrounding the Selous Game Reserve. Established in 1964, it spans an area of around 3,230 square kilometers, ranking as the fourth-largest national park in Tanzania. Mikumi is renowned for its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes, showcasing expansive savannahs, baobab trees, and the picturesque Mkata River floodplain.

WILDLIFE: Mikumi boasts a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, buffaloes, and different antelope species. The park is also a prime spot for observing hippos and crocodiles in its waterways.

Mikumi National Park is conveniently accessible from Dar es Salaam, situated approximately 283 kilometers away. The park can be reached by road, with a journey lasting about four to five hours. Alternatively, charter flights are available, with a small airstrip near the park facilitating air travel.
